Overview
42 is JKS Restaurants' first standalone cocktail bar, an exclusive lounge located at 42 Albemarle Street above their two Michelin-starred restaurant Gymkhana in Mayfair. Opened in 2023, the venue is inspired by the exclusive captain's quarters of the Gymkhana clubs of India, offering a sophisticated space where cocktails showcase Indian ingredients and nostalgic Indian flavours, complemented by rare whiskies and Champagnes. The bar has garnered critical acclaim and won the LIV Hospitality Design Award for Interior Design Cocktail Bar, establishing itself as a premium drinking destination in London's competitive cocktail scene.
Approach
This project presented significant challenges due to space restrictions and its location within a conservation area, necessitating a very tight programme. Acting as Project Managers, we coordinated both internal teams and external contractors with precision timing to ensure delivery within the compressed schedule. The complexity of the space required meticulous planning and clockwork coordination between all parties. Our management approach focused on maintaining momentum throughout the constrained timeline while navigating the regulatory requirements of the conservation area, ultimately delivering JKS's first bar concept to the exacting standards expected of the Gymkhana brand.
