Overview
Legado is a contemporary Spanish restaurant in Shoreditch by Michelin-starred chef and TV personality Nieves Barragán Mohacho. The second site from the acclaimed chef following her one Michelin-starred restaurant Sabor in Mayfair, Legado celebrates the diverse regional food cultures of Spain and its islands. Located at Montacute Yards on Shoreditch High Street, the restaurant was added to the prestigious Michelin Guide just three months after opening in 2025. Legado has received great acclaim for moving beyond familiar Spanish cuisine to showcase lesser-known regional culinary traditions and artisans, winning the FT best new restaurant and Hot Dinners best new restaurant after only a few months of trading.
Approach
This shell and core site presented unique complexities requiring careful coordination of extraction systems through operating office spaces above the restaurant. Acting as Project Managers, we navigated the technical challenges of installing three separate kitchens and multiple mechanical systems within the space. The build demanded precise coordination between trades and careful sequencing to ensure the extraction routes could be achieved without disrupting the occupied office spaces. Despite the technical complexities, the project delivered a sophisticated restaurant environment that met the exacting standards required for a Michelin Guide venue, making it a particularly satisfying build for our team.
